After several years of a new life in France and drifting apart from her brother Siavash, an exiled Iranian punk singer and survivor of his band’s fatal tragedy, Mahsa travels to the USA with the hope of reclaiming their fragile, shifting sibling bond. As they wander through New York City and journey across American highways, long-buried memories of Tehran begin to resurface as Siavash retreats into imaginary characters.
Born in Iran, Mahsa Karampour has lived in France since 2003. Alongside her sociology studies at EHESS, she pursued a cinema program at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University. A graduate in filmmaking from the École documentaire de Lussas, she leads film workshops, works as a camera and sound operator, and contributes to festival programming. In 2024, she performed as an actress in a stage adaptation of Ten by Abbas Kiarostami, directed by Guilda Chahverdi. INTO THE JAWS OF THE OGRE is her first feature film.
