A young couple Dong and Juan who bicker and fuss throughout their relationship strive to make a living in Shenzhen. Dong works as a guard at a deserted waterpark in hopes that the old stage be reopened so he can resume his acting career to play the Monkey King. He meets ex-dancer Yuan there and gets to know her life. Juan wishes to open her own flower shop while currently arranging flowers at Mr. Long’s establishment; she is attracted to Long’s mysterious demeanor. The relations between these four people become gradually displaced while the dankness of the muggy, wet weather creeps upon them.
Gao Ming is a screenwriter, director and designer living and working in Shenzhen. His 2005 short film A Song has been screened at the 2nd China Independent Film Forum and the Asiatica Film Festival in Rome. His first documentary feature, Paigu, was selected in numerous film festivals including HOTDOC Film Festival and Documentary Dream Show / Yamagata in Tokyo. Gao Ming’s film and his artworks have been showcased at over a hundred film, art and design events. Many of them are collected by various art galleries and university libraries.
